Teatro e Marionetas de Mandrágora is taking the first steps towards the 2024 edition, which marks 18 years of this celebration of the art of puppetry.

18 years of dedication, care, professionalism, and deep artistic commitment. Since 2006, Teatro e Marionetas de Mandrágora, a professional theater structure created in 2002, has been working closely to put on this event.

A Festival marked by its diversity, presenting shows, training sessions, exhibitions, talks, performances and so many other ways of getting in touch with this art, which has become a way of being and experiencing culture in the city.

For families, groups and artists, the Festival returns with a complete program full of activities for everyone.

Mar~Marionetas takes place every year in the coastal city of Espinho, a city with a long fishing tradition and a strong cultural activity, a city that stretches along the ocean and is infected by its relationship with the sea.

The smell of good fish emanates from its territory, and there are activities where art is a fundamental asset. Various cultural facilities in the city offer creative and artistic potential. Music and animated films are fundamental pillars of the many activities on offer in the city, as are the excellent art initiatives, where painting and sculpture play a major role, making the emblematic Espinho Art and Culture Forum a must-see.
