Let's dive into the silences of Maria Antónia Santos, on the last day that her exhibition “Paintings of Silence” will be on show at the Municipal Museum of Espinho.

Visiting the exhibition, we'll discover how the absence of sound is painted. Then we'll build “circles of silence” in tapestry - another artistic area that Maria Antónia Santos likes to explore! In the future, these circles will give rise to an art installation that will be part of the Mar~Marionetas festival!

The creation of synergies and partnerships launched new challenges. Through the Festival's collaboration with the Educational Service of the Municipality of Espinho, a series of pieces were created with the children, in the context of an educational activity. These occupied the entrance space of the Palco das Marionetas exhibition in the gallery of the Centro Multimeios de Espinho.

Their reading can be done by contagion and so, populated by the color of light, in a play of shadows that are projected across the space, we are invited to read them. An organic structure that takes us back to a gentle undulation above us that makes us immerse ourselves in the exhibition, contemplating circles that together seem to be parts that form a whole. The very principle of community work. It's worth a visit until the end of this edition of the Mar~Marionetas festival.
